Singer Eddy Kenzo has signed a deal with the Kenyan Tourism Board to become the brand promoter of Kenyan Culture and Tourism for a period of one year.
Kenzo signed the contract on Thursday at Sheraton Hotel and he will be responsible for promoting Kenya to the outside world as the country with the best tourist attractions in the East Africa region.
We have learnt that Kenzo will also be responsible for promoting homage, culture, beauty, natural resource, infrastructure and tourism in general of the republic of Kenya.
This will go under the campaign Take a break Tugende Kenya. We don’t know how this will be treated by Uganda’s State Minister for Tourism, Godfrey Kiwanda who has been fighting hard to promote Uganda’s tourism through artistes and even approached Kenzo.
In 2011 presidential campaigns Kenzo’s breakthrough song, “Stamina”, was used as a theme song for Yoweri Museveni’s presidential campaign.
During that time Kenzo was also given a brand new Toyota landcruiser registered in the UAP series to help him traverse all over the country as the crowd puller at Museveni’s rallies.
The Stamina song was the main campaign song.
